The Pura Vida Spirit

Nuestra Historia

30 Years of Passion, precision, and the heart of Costa Rica on every plate.

The Chef's Journey

I started this business after spending 30 years working as a chef. Throughout my career, I worked in Italian restaurants, and my passion for cooking only grew stronger over time. I’ve always loved what I do, and opening a small fast-food business of my own had been a longtime dream. The name of my business is especially meaningful to me—it’s a tribute to my two sons and my grandson,

as well as to my Costa Rican heritage. I’m proudly a Tico, and the name reflects that part of who I am. It’s even a name close to home—my dog is named Tico too!e officially opened our doors for the first time on May 7, 2023, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

The Name & Heritage

At Tico Boys, we embrace the Costa Rican philosophy of Pura Vida—a way of life that celebrates simplicity, gratitude, and joy in every moment. For us, it’s more than a phrase; it’s the spirit behind our food and service. Every dish is prepared with passion and care, reflecting the warmth and hospitality that define our culture. When customers walk through our doors, we want them to feel the same relaxed happiness that “Pura Vida” inspires: enjoying good food, sharing with friends, and living life fully.
